The best way to begin to experience the indigenous cultures of Ecuador is visiting the market of Zumbagua. Therefore this program is recommended for people seeking a truly cultural experience and the wonders of Quilotoa Area, Zumbagua is not the classic tourist Indian market, here locals highlanders and visitors they get together every Saturday to trade their crops products, animals and daily goods.
Quilota Insilivi trek may take two or three days, the area is located in the Central Andes of Ecuador, and offer one of the most extensive Paramos and landscapes, the indigenous hand crafts, huts and crops of corn, clearly identify the local culture. Quilotoa Lake is an obligated visit for the hikers.

Leaving Quito in south direction, we will pass by Machachi village before arriving to Zumbagua where every Saturday take pace an ancient and colorful Indian market. We can share and experience some ways of trading dealing and their goods, animals and handcrafts in the same manner as they did in the past. After wards we will head to Quilotoa Lake and hike around the lake. Overnight in a cozy Lodge (3700 mt).
After breakfast, we will hike along a trail towards an small village, here we will do a brake and continue our hike to the bottom of Toachi Cayon, afterwards we will start walking up hills along tiny crops till we arrive to our cozy lodge in Chugchilan village. Shower and Diner.
Day 3. CHUGCHILAN INSILIVI TREK
Today and after breakfast, we will walk into a valley following the banks of Toachi River, the landscape will be different and more scenic than the previous days, In the afternoon we will arrive to Insilivi village where our vehicle is waiting to take us back to Quito.
