Experience Ecuador’s Amazon in a comfortable way. Our wonderful Amazon Lodge is located in the upper Amazon basin overlooking the majestic Napo River. Cotococha Amazon Lodge offers 22 spacious bungalows, built according to traditional architecture in harmony with the atmosphere of the rain forest. All bungalows are equipped with a private bathroom, a private veranda with reclining chairs or hammocks to relax, enjoy the sights and sounds of Ecuador’s Amazon. Social areas are carefully decorated and offer all comfort and coziness for a splendid stay in the Ecuadorian Amazon. To preserve the magic of the Amazon, we use oil lamps to illuminate the cabins. Day 1. This tour start and ends in Tena village where we pick you up in a certain point and transfer you to Cotococha Lodge where a very special welcome drink is served while sitting around the open fireplace to coordinate and discuss next day’s activities with our crew, plus an introductory speech about the Amazon Rain Forest we will do a first short hike with a native guide. Back for diner and overnight.
Day 2. Visit to the Animal Rescue Centre “AmaZOOnico” which is specialized in the rescue of wild animals, in order to reintegrate them into the wildlife. Here we will observe a great variety of species such as: toucans, all kind of colorful parrots, various kinds of monkeys, jaguars, capybaras, etc. In the afternoon, we will do another hike in the Rain Forest, Back in the lodge for Diner.
Day 3. After breakfast, we will depart by dugout canoe upstream, arriving to a small shore where we begin a fun and thrilling hike, till we get the waterfall named Las Latas. After lunch, we will do a short hike near the lodge and prepare to leave the lodge and drive back to Tena city. End of program.
