Toachi River begins in the slopes of our western Ecuadorian Andes, flowing in the direction of the Pacific Ocean. River otters and other wildlife are also frequently spotted. Somewhere downstream, both Toachi and Blanco join forces, allowing us to navigate excellent and constant grade III and IV rapids followed by big white water tropical waves in only one day.
Early departure in the direction of Santo Domingo city. We will drive to an altitude of 3000 mt before descending into the Toachi cloud forest valley where we will reach our starting point. A safety briefing is held by our Certified (AGAR) guides before boarding the rafts.
Middle section presents challenging rapids and narrow passages class III and IV as well as gorgeous spots of the cloud forest. About 22 km downstream of exiting waves and rapids our vehicles will be waiting to take us back to Quito or S. Domingo city. Cold beer and lunch will be served before we head back to Quito. Upon request, the lower section may be run next days. Ask for it!
